Business Ownership Mindset for Emerging Leaders

The Challenge

A rapidly scaling gaming services company needed its delivery leaders to move beyond day-to-day execution and take ownership of business outcomes. Leadership identified four critical gaps:

 

1. Project success was mistaken for business success

2. Limited focus on BU vision, commercial levers, and growth

3. Reactive problem-solving vs. forward-thinking influence with clients

4. Inconsistent accountability for commitments and outcomes

 

The organisation wanted leaders who could think like mini-CEOs and drive value creation across delivery engagements.

The Approach

Effilor designed a coaching-led transformation program to shift mindsets and embed business-centric behaviour.

 

Anchored on four development workshops - Business Mindset, Problem Solving & Thinking Different, Leading Through Coaching, and Growth Mindset & Ownership, this program helped leaders connect BU vision to tangible goals, analyse problems with a top-down and lateral thinking approach, influence teams through coaching-led leadership, and embrace accountability with a strong focus on outcomes.

 

Each leader was guided to internalise these concepts and translate them into workplace actions that would elevate business value, client alignment, and personal leadership effectiveness.

Coaching for Behavioural Change:
Structured coaching sessions focused on observable, measurable behaviours, using a reflective and consultative style, reinforced with proven frameworks where guidance was required.

Outside-in Business Lens:
Leaders were coached to convert insight into real actions: proactively identifying upsell opportunities, influencing client teams, and taking ownership of delivery economics.

Progress Reviews with Leadership:
A mid-point and final check-in ensured accountability, with behavioural change validated by senior management and reinforced for long-term continuity.
